Recipe by Scotland
I found this recipe on Y! Answers last week and finally tried it tonight. It did not disappoint. I used burrito size tortillas. I thought maybe that Taco Time's mixture is a little wetter, but the taste is spot-on! I used about 1/4 of a large onion and used a chopper. *Update - added some water as it was warming and it definitely helped. I didn't measure, but it was at least 4 T. Just add a little at a time.

You need to add about 1/3 the volume of beef with TVP. it's in the "seasonings" packet and gives it the texture, as does beating the snot out of the whole mixture in a huge pot with a paddle (seriously, yes). I think you have the chili powder and cumin amounts reversed, and you forgot celery salt. I seem to recall there was some sort of tomato powder or maybe sauced used, too???
- 1 tablespoon minced onion
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon minced garlic (1 clove)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cumin
