Excellent! Much better than packaged mix. I haven't bought packaged mix since I discovered this posting. Thanks for sharing. :)
Very good!!! added a 1/4 cup tomato sauce to water and some shredded mexican cheese that melted in and thickened. Very tasty!
Ole! Since finding this recipe, I no longer see the need to buy taco seasoning (pre-packaged) from the grocery store. Works well, every time! Most recently, I used this with Easier-Than-Making-Tacos Taco Salad Update 6/9/10): and used with Meximelt a La Amy . I've tried this with so many recipes-- it never disappoints. A real keeper! Gracias!
Wow! I've always just spent the $.59 on a package of taco seasoning from the store and thought it was better and easier than making it myself. Now that I'm keeping a better stocked spice cabinet, I had all the ingredients in the house and had forgotten to pick up the store bought version.....so I whipped this up and it tasted exactly like the prepackaged version. So tasty and I made it myself! No preservatives- woo hoo! Permanent place in my home- thanks!
This recipe is great, I have used it for a few years now and would never buy taco seasoning. I add a little cayenne pepper as well as paprika as a few other's have suggested. This gives it a great little kick everybody always loves my taco's and burritos. I prepare this in a small glass bowl and mix it well and have it ready to go into the ground beef after browning.
Made this when I found I did not have the stuff in the envelope, and now I'll never go back. This is so convenient and delicious as well! Thanks for sharing!
I have used this a couple of times now.... All I have to say is don't waste your $$$ on the packaged stuff, this is a lot better! My DH couldn't even tell the difference!
So easy and delicious. You can make this for pennies and it tastes just as good as the packet you buy at the store.
I will never buy the packet in the supermarket again. No preservatives here. Thanks so much for posting this.
Thank you for this wonderful recipe. I no longer need to buy packets of seasoning. Great flavor as is. On a whim I added about a teaspoon of adobo sauce I had leftover and it only added to the flavor.
