  1. very good, and I agree with some others about adding salt, it makes a big difference

  2. Fantastic recipe! So wonderful to know what exactly went into the seasoning mixture without all those extra "unknowns" that you often find on the package's ingredient listing. Great for low sodium diets. This recipe is a keeper! Thank you for sharing, Michael T!

  3. This is excellent! I have been seasoning my own taco meat for a while, but this is much better than what I was making. My only suggestion is to add salt. I made some and sent it to my sister, who didn't add salt when she made tacos, and she said it was just so so. I added salt to my batch and it was awesome.

  4. Great mix!! I ground whole cumin and coriander seeds to give it that fresh flavor!! Wonderful! I used it for beef and shredded chicken tacos! Thanks so much!

  5. Of all the taco seasoning recipes on the 'zaar, I chose this one because it had coriander and no bouillon. I left out the crushed red pepper flakes (household of weenies)and used it to make crockpot chicken taco meat (#4957). It was very close to the flavor I have been looking for. I ended up adding a little more garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar per 3 tablespoons of mix, and a few generous dashes of cinnamon. It's very good, and I will probably tweak it a little more, after I see what it tastes like after sitting overnight (if there is any left!) Thanks for posting

Tweaks

  1. I used this in recipe #174668 with great results. The only thing I changed was to leave out the garlic powder (I add fresh garlic instead) and I didn't have any onion flakes so I used some onion granules instead. I'll make sure that I always have some of this stored as it is so much cheaper than the store bought stuff, I know everything that's in it and it tastes and works just as good, if not better. Thanks for sharing.
