This was easy to make and does make alot. Nice for us. I froze in 1lb portions. This definitely needs salt. Wish I had tasted it before freezing and it really isn't spicy. At least not for my family. We like it but we just need more of a kick. I think salt is something lacking in the recipe though. We aren't saltaholics but even my husband (salt hater) thought it needed some.

This was a pretty good recipe. A little bland for me, and I even added 5 jalapenos! The taste is good, but it just doesn't have a spicy mexican taste. It does make A LOT of filling though!

Oh my gosh!! My hubby is LOVING this - he even boiled up some spaghetti and mixed it all together. My 6 year old just had a taco spaghetti taco (her own concoction) and wants it for lunch tomorrow! I've had weight-loss surgery so I'm happy with anything that settles well and this does. I declare this a 5 star hit!!!!

Made this recipe and it turned out SO good! My DH says this is the only way I should ever make taco meat from now on. This is WAY better than making it with taco seasoning packets! Thanks for a great recipe.

I also saw this in Everyday Food and just love this recipe! Such an easy fix, and you can put it in just about anything! I did add the tablespoon of cumin that the original recipe calls for. Thanks for posting!

This was my very first OAMC recipe- though I have cooked for huge crowds before - never got to put it up afterwards. I used this for one of those 'huge' groups and it was a smash! Very easy to use for a buffet mexican party. We did 'make your own' taco/nacho/etc... theme and this helped to make it so easy on the cook! thanks for a yummy and easy recipe!

Katie I love OAMC.. it makes me feel so organised. I made this today but added a chopped green pepper and 1 tablespoon of cumin. I made enchiladas for dinner tonight from this recipe..and have the remainder cooling in the fridge.I'll bag it up into small servings and freeze - the kids can then have tacos, burritos, toasted sandwiches or whatever, when that after-school hunger hits them. Thanks for a tasty and handy recipe!
