This was a really good recipe! My two year old loved it and asked for more! I did not layer it, I just mixed it all up and topped it with cheese. This will be fixed often at our house!

We really loved this. Mike ate 3/4 of it himself lol (he paid the price later when he found we were out of tums lol). I served it with a simple green salad and chips guacamole and salsa. I also put together a plate of raw diced onion and olives to top the casserole with as desired and we loved it with the extras. I did not top with the salsa but I did stir some in with the meat mixture. I also didn't layer, I just mixed the meat mixture with the mac and cheese and then topped with a handful of cheese. We loved the cheesy crust that formed over the top. Also, I didn't use milk or butter in the mac and cheese, just the sour cream and the powdered cheese package. I do this with all casseroles even if they don't call for sour cream, I just like it this way. Mike added extra sour cream to the top of his. We really liked this, and even tho Mike thinks I tried to kill him he told me this is a keeper. I am sure this would be very kid friendly. Thanks for a grt recipe

Very good! It reminded us of Hamburger Helper, only much better. And it was extremely easy to make. Definitely a keeper.

yummy stuff! I mixed the meat with the macaroni as well. I also added the salsa to individual bowls -- my DH is not a salsa fan but my little guy & I loved it. this is a great family keeper -- thanks for sharing it!

I didn't use milk or butter because I used Mac and cheese that had cheese sauce. I goofed and mixed everything together. I covered the top with shredded cheddar. It was very good, next time I think I will crumble doritos on top.

Really good, and for once, both kids ate it as well. I made this with just a regular box of mac and cheese, so 1/4 c milk and 1/4 c butter rather than halves. Not sure if I've seen a 14 oz size box. Everything else I did the same. I used homemade taco seasoning off Allrecipes by Bill Echols, and it's fantastic. Not sure it's on here, but it's a wonderful seasoning mix and all I use now. I did find this in the Food and Family magazine as well, and it's a keeper.

This turned out surprisingly well! Very easy to make and delicious. A great way to use up that box of mac & cheese.

Excellent! Easy to prepare and tasty! I added extra cheese (of course) and used closer to a cup of sour cream. I think I may try adding corn next time. I was skeptical about the salsa on top, but it was just the kick it needed. My fiance saw this recipe in a mag and wanted me to try it but I lost it. Thanks for posting!

A kid pleaser. I used to make this recipe and everyone loved it. A bunch of my friends stole this recipe and make it for their families also.
