Really good! I have been looking for a good recipe for this for years. I use cube steak or round steak, add some more seasoning... garlic, basil, everglades seasoning, and extra salt & pepper. I slow cook & thicken up a little & serve over rice. This is a good Comfort Food! Thanks for the recipe.

I thought this was a little bland, and the cube steaks don't really get infused with any flavor.

What a great recipe to come home to on a cold grey windy day!! Absolutely delicious. The only change I made was to use red/green/yellow peppers since that's what I had in the freezer. Thank you!

This was excellent. I left mine in the crockpot too long, though, and the meat just fell apart. We ate the meat & sauce mixture over brown rice and loved it. Thanks for a great recipe.

Great Swiss Steak recipe. I made it just as printed except that I substituted a 28 oz can of stewed tomatoes instead of crushed for the top layer and reduced the bell pepper to just one. I cooked mine on low for 10 hours and it was perfect. I removed about 2 cups of the juice and thickened it on the stove with a little cornstarch and water to make the sauce a bit thicker. DH said that it reminded him of galumpkis w/o the cabbage. Everyone had seconds even though we were stuffed. Next time, I might spice it up mexican style with enchilada sauce.

I made this tonight and my friends and I LOVED it. I am new to the "cooking world" (no more Hamburger Helper for me!!) and this recipe was very easy to make. The steak was very tender after simmering in the crockpot all day while I was at work. I would definitely recommend this recipe!!
