Love spaetzle and this is no exception! A very easy recipe, especially because I used my stand mixer and then the spaetzle maker. I also lightly crisped up some diced pancetta in a pan while making and cooking the spaetzle, so the whole process took about 15 minutes. We like to fry up the cooked noodles in a pan just a little bit but you have to make sure to not overcrowd the pan or the noodles will steam instead of crisping. I got a nice yellow colour for the noodles because I like to use organic eggs and they have nice bright yellow yolks. Made for PRMR and will make again. Thanks awalde! :D

This was my first time making spaetzle. I added some sauteed onion, bacon and tomato concentrate to my dish and loved every bite. It makes a tasty side dish that would compliment any meal. My colander didn't have big enough holes so I ended up using my potato masher. I enjoyed this dish so much that the next day I ordered a spaetzle maker online. I am looking forward to making this again with the spaetzle maker. Made for May 2012 Aus/NZ Swap.

WOW, alwade, this recipe is amazing! It works out so beautifully even for someone who has never made spaetzle before. The dough was silky and soft and so nice to work with. I used my colander and it worked like a charm. My spaetzle came out a bit shorter than normally, but that was fine with me. They were super tasty and had the perfect consistency. Thank you so much for sharing this genius tip with us about using the colander, I would have never thought of that.
I added 1/4 ts nutmeg, freshly ground black pepper and only about 1/4 ts salt to the dough. YUM!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for this amazing recipe, Ill make it again and again, Im sure.

This is the second time I have attempted to make spaetzle and this is the best recipe so far, tasty with the perfect consistency. I am definitely going to purchase a spaetzle maker and use this recipe again. I served this topped with Recipe#357435 for a very delicious Sunday dinner. Thanks! Made for More Than Sauerkraut & Dumplings in the German Forum.

Wow, what a great spaetzle recipe. Nice and light and perfect texture. I am so happy I choose this recipe as it was great to serve with Delicious Saucy Carrots
I didn't have spaetzle maker so I had a bit hard time to press batter it seem to be too thick so I added little bit of milk to make the batter more loose consistency.
Definitely keeper! Made for February 2012Au/Nz Swap recipe. Thank you Awalde!

I LOVE SPAETZLE!!! Thanks for posting this simple recipe to put together. Now it makes me think of my childhood growing up and Mom making this alot for me. I used the spaetzle maker that my sister bought me. I topped ours with swiss cheese just like Mom used to do. Delicious! Made for A-NZ Reunion Tag Game 2011.

This was a hit for the entire family! I created a nice Swiss menu and this was the perfect pairing with Pork Cordon Bleu and Oven Roasted Cabbage for dinner. This will definitely be a keeper for those cold winter nights when comfort food is a must. I added spinach to make a lovely vegetable Spaetzle. And surprise surprise, I have a spaetzle maker, who knew? *shrugs* :D Thanks for posting awalde! Made and enjoyed for team Mischief Makers - ZWT, Switzerland :)

Well, I just had to try this recipe for the Swiss leg of ZWT7. So glad that I did these little noodles are delicious. I didn't have a real problem getting it through the colander, but then, I have a pretty big colander with holes larger than average. I made this to go along with Grison Beef Stew - Swiss and they were a real hit. We all loved these. Made for ZWT7 - Witchin Kitchen.

Made this wonderful spaetzle, and it was totally easy to put together, although I confess to a bit of a struggle, (not much) to get the spaetzle through the colander, and then crisping them up prior to serving. (I used bacon and onion). Served under Swiss Pork and Mushrooms, which together this was such a great pairing, I was hoping for left-overs. Alas, there were none. So go ahead and make your own. I won't share. Thanks for posting! Made for ZWT7

I make a very similar spaetzle but I add about a pinch of nutmeg for flavor. Very good ... we have it with steak and a balsamic reduction with a little sprinkle of goat cheese on top!

I really enjoyed this dish, but had a really tough time getting the batter through my colander. I ended up trying to force it through a slotted spoon, and even that was challenging. I'm guessing that having a spaetzle maker would really help...or maybe my batter was just too thick. I ate it tossed in some butter and cinnamon, and warmed up the leftovers with some garlic & oil oil. Both ways it was very tasty.

*Made for Australia/NZ Swap #49* --AHHHH -- what fun !! A new culinary experience for me ! We have had a spaetzle maker in a drawer for years -- don't recall EVER using it ! Since we were having a rotisserie chicken tonight, thought I could use my prep time for this. Batter/dough made up quickly and easily, made jut according to the recipe. Added some melted butter and pepper when serving, but needed some additional salt. Makes a LOT !! We ate a significant amount and have a bowl of noodles to use as a pasta later. Thanks, awalde, for sharing for a fun dinner !!

WOW! This recipe is so easy to make. I don't have a Spaetzle maker, so I improvised and used a slotted spoon which worked pretty good. I'm probably going to invest in one to make my life easier. I served them with roast duckling. Thanks for posting! Made for Veg "N Swap tag #29.
