From the book, Heart of the Palms
- 4 -6 small ripe tomatoes
- salt and pepper
- 3 slices bread, crumbled
- 1⁄2 teaspoon basil
- 2 teaspoons butter, melted
- 4 slices swiss cheese, grated
- Slice tomatoes in half.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Mix remaining ingredients, and pile lightly on tomato halves.
- Broil until cheese begins to melt and topping is lightly browned.
