"A tasty appetizer I found on greatlakeskraut.com website when I was looking to use up leftover sauerkraut from my reuben sandwich dinner night. I hope it sounds interesting enough to try!"

  • 12 slice pumpernickel rounds (mini size bread) or 12 slice rye cocktail bread (mini size bread)
  • 177.44 ml drained sauerkraut
  • 118.29 ml finely shredded swiss cheese

directions

  • Toast bread under broiler 1 minute to toast.
  • Top each piece of toast with 1 tablespoons sauerkraut and 2 tsp cheese.
  • Broil 2 minutes or until cheese melted.

<p>I lived in Western NY all my life. I love collecting cookbooks and recipes. My favorite cookbooks are the stuffed cougar from richmond, VA and southern living. I love to pick up cookbooks in different areas of the country especially ones put together from homecooks like the fundraiser type.
