Swirled Turtle Brownies

READY IN: 40mins
Recipe by Redneck Epicurean

This came from a brochure I got at the TOH cooking school using those new Nestle Swirl morsels. The picture, I'm sure, doesn't do this justice. They look like a sure-fire cure for any problems you have at the moment (PMS, husband being fussy...you name it).

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!! I had to alter the recipe a little bit. I didn't have self rising flour so I used all purpose and added baking powder, baking soda and salt.I also ended up using caramel filled milk chocolate pieces b/c when I went to get my swirled chips I found that someone had EATEN them!!! I didn't mix any pecans in the batter b/c I only had a few. I did put them on top along with more caramel filled pieces. It took longer to bake, about 50 minutes total. They are fantastic!!! I wanted to put the caramel topping on them but someone had eaten that too. >:-( The batter is very thck and I thought maybe I had done something wrong, but they baked up terrific. This is going into the permanent cookbook!!!
