Great recipe Aunt Woofie! I dusted the top of the cake with some fine icing sugar (just to make it look nice), and we ate it plain! It was delicious. Since there is only two of us, I cut it in half and I've got the other half in the freezer. Thanks for sharing!

Simple. Wonderful. What more can I say (especially around a mouthful of this cake!)

Wow this is good! I love a cake that needs no frosting, this cake is moist and so delicious, and very pretty too! I had jumbo eggs so i used only 2 and this cake came out perfect! Thanks so much.

Great cake! I used a Pillsbury mix that had double pudding and served it with Cool Whip. I made the cake on Saturday for a get-together on Sunday - people loved it and requested the recipe! Thanks for posting - I'll be making this again and again!

This cake is so delicious and moist! I took it to a family dinner and everyone raved about it. It was a unanimous 5-star around the table! Thanks for sharing this, AuntWoofieWoof.

This got me lots and lots of compliments, almost to the point of embarrassment! I added a little lemon zest to the cherry pie filling and we had this for dessert with homemade maraschino cherry ice cream. You can never have enough cherries in a dessert, in my opinion. Thanks for the recipe, it's going to get a lot of use in our house!

This is wonderful!! Made it last night for a Bible study group. They had seconds, & by bedtime my family had polished the leftovers off. Nice & moist & flavorful! Thank you!!

So very easy, and moist and perfect for summer or anytime. Needs no topping. Tried it with frozen yogurt, very good, but most of the time would just grab a piece plain. Loved it, thank you.

This is super easy and feeds a crowd. I think I'll try a chocolate mix next time. The cake still tastes like a "cake mix" cake I thought but is still quite good. Thanks! This will be a regular in our house.

I've never made this cake myself, but my mother has made it twice and I just had to say how much I enjoy it! I requested it for my birthay last night, and it tasted just a wonderful as I remembered. I love the sweet cherry flavor! We'll be making this for years to come. Thanks, AuntWoofie!

This is a very tasty, moist and easy to make. I did make one big booboo - I thought it would be nice to make it in a bundt pan rather than a 9x13 pan. Bad idea. The cake is too moist for a bundt pan and had several cracks in it when I took it out of the pan. I made a vanilla butter cream frosting which pretty well covered up the cracks. Also, it seemed to be not as high as it should have been.

I've made this twice and each time, got rave reviews! I used a marble cake mix as I didn't have a white, and it was fantastic...like black forest cake. Very moist, tasty and it tastes like a lot of effort went into making it, even though its not!! A keeper!

This was easy and delicious. I would probably ice it next time, and maybe a nice variation would be with a chocolate cake mix - sort of like a black forest theme. Thanks for the recipe. I'll definitely make it again. Very easy.

Good recipe. I dusted the top with confectioners sugar, but I think it would be even better with vanilla icing.

I made this exactly as directed. It is delicious...and easy. My husband has requested that I make it with apple pie filling next time. I believe it would be equally great with any pie filling you prefer. (I prefer cherry.) I didn't use a topping. I didn't feel it was necessary.

This cake is incredibly delicious! So easy to make. I made it with the white cake mix, but will try the yellow next time. Makes a large cake. Also good without whipped cream of ice-cream. this one's a keeper!

This was a great recipe idea. I used devil's food and it came out something like a black forest cake. It was so good!

This turned our really well. I took Teresa Fadley's suggestion of topping it with a Cool Whip, cup of milk and vanilla pudding frosting. DH really loved how light this cake turned out and I agree. My only complaint is the cherries seem to sink. I was hoping they would be more suspened, so I could get a cherry with every bite. Oh well....it was still delicious and got better after a few days in the refrigerator. Thanks so much for posting!

Very easy and tasty. I didn't realize that two of my guests didn't care for cherries, but they still gobbled up this cake! I served it warm with real whipped cream. A great simple dessert that doesn't take a lot of effort. Will add this to my list of quick fixes.
