I just made this tonight for me and my girlfriend, and it was nothing short of absolutely awesome. Made the meatballs from scratch and followed the recipe to the letter, except I added the two optional ingredients, green peppers and rosemary, and I also added crushed red pepper. The meatballs had plenty of zip & zing and the sauce was to die for--we will definitely be having this again, thanks so much for sharing!

Used pre-made meatballs and is was very good! Nice alternative to the grape jelly meatballs. Only problem I had is that the pineapple tidbits were only sold with juice and not syrup so I had to add sugar to the sauce to cut down on the acidity from the vinegar. Will definitely make these again!

Loved this recipe! I used very lean beef and left out the rosemary and the meatballs were very good, I don't care for the texture of pre-made ones. I wasn't sure of the can size in ml for the pineapple so I went with 2 large cans of chunked pineapple and doubled the sauce ingredients (I had made a double batch of meat balls.) The added green peppers are a nice touch and add good color. It took a little more thickener to get the consistancy I wanted. I re-heated the sauce and meatballs together on the cooktop and then put in a chaffing dish for the party - they were a huge success. Thanks for sharing!

Made these for a potluck and they were a definite hit! I admit I used pre-made meatballs... only wonder how much better they would have been by following the recipe! These even beat out another "orange BBQ" meatball that was also there. Very good!!!

What with our blizzards here in Colorado and working long hours I hadn't been to the store. I had been dying to try this recipe. Last night when I got home I knew this would be the time to make this because it looked so easy. I used frozen meatballs as suggested by a few other reviewers. Great flavor, loved the sauce. Thanks for such an easy and tasty recipe Canadian Pixie.

I admit I didn't make the meatballs; I had some leftover frozen meatballs and was looking for something unique to do with them. I'm glad I found this recipe! The sauce was wonderful and had the perfect balance of sweet and sour. I added some red pepper flakes for a little spice as well. Yum! I'm sure I'll make the meatballs myself next time because it sounds delicous too.

Great recipe - I had no time to make the meatball portion, so I used a bag of frozen meatballs and just heated them through. The sauce was Killer !!!! Mine needed a little more liquid so I added a little orange juice. This is a keeper!!

Very yummy! I made them for Shabbat so I did not add the milk to the meatballs. After they baked I thought they might be too dry but after cooking in the sauce they were fine. I might try some fruit juice or coconut milk next time to see how that works. I was also thinking of trying chopped water chestnuts in the meat mixture and if I hadn't served them with rice that may have been a nice touch in the mixture too. You could really go so many ways with this. I formed and baked them last night and stuck them in the fridge. After work today I simply followed the recipe from step 4. With the meatballs all ready to go this became a quick weeknight meal. I served them with coconut rice which was a perfect match and green beans. This was very good and perfect for dipping DH's homemade Challah into. I love the addition of the pineapple and used chunks instead of tidbits. I didn't use the green pepper because I knew mike wouldn't like them but you could really use any variety of veggies in this (think about what comes in swt & sour chicken at the chinese restaurant)Thanks for a great and easy recipe. I will be making this again and again.

These were superb! I accidentally bought pineapple in its own juice rather than in syrup, so I just added another tablespoon of brown sugar. Very good recipe!

It was my fault for overlooking the fact that I should've baked the meatballs first so they fell apart in my crockpot and my oven when I tried to pan fry them first. However, everyone really loved the flavor of the sauce and the meat mixture went great over a bowl of cooked Asian rice.

Delicious, delicious! I had these mesatballs at an Ontario Zaar appy party and they were just wonderful. The combination of the sweet and sour and pineapple was great. A welcome change from the tomatoe or grape jelly based recipes of sweet and sour. Thanks for a keeper!
