This is a nice, different way to serve Aspaeagus. Serve cold as a salad dish.
- 1 lb asparagus, steamed for 8 minutes
- 1⁄4 cup lite olive oil or 1⁄4 cup virgin olive oil, if you prefer
- 3⁄4 cup vinegar
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 teaspoon celery salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- lettuce leaf (optional)
- Combine all the ingredients (except asparagus) in a saucepan bring to a boil.
- Pour over the asparagus and refrigerate for 24 hours Serve on lettuce leaves (Optional).
