"A friend of our family use to make this dish when sweet potatoes are in season. I think its a traditional Canadian recipe. Our friend has a sister that lives in Toronto and gave her the recipe."

  1. This is very similar to my grandmother's sweet potato casserole. Hers uses brown sugar instead of granulated, and I think that would have been better in this recipe as well with the honey and the brandy. I might also halve the orange juice next time because I felt it was a bit over powering. Still very tasty though. Thanks Katia!

  2. These are to-die-for! I reduced the recipe for 2 of us and discovered that I didn't have a casserole dish the right size, so made 2 individual casseroles. Both of us ooohhhh and awwwed throughout dinner. This will definitely be on my Thanksgiving table. Thanks katia!

  3. This sweet potato recipe is so very good. I made half of the recipe and used almond extract in place of the brandy and fresh ground nutmeg. The flavors are wonderful and the walnut topping is an added bonus. Thank you katia for posting this recipe.
