I found this recipe in a very old cookbook my mom gave me. It was her first cookbook she had when she got married in 1953.

Directions

  1. Combine ham and potatoes and egg.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Add to ham mixture.
  4. Drop by tbsp onto hot griddle and brown on each side.

I am not going to rate this b/c I added an ingredient. I wanted to leave a comment or two though. I added some brown sugar b/c we like sweet potatoes with it. The flavor of these was great. Delicious. However, they did not stay together very well. I had a heck of a time trying to flip them. They just mushed all apart. I don't know if it was the brown sugar or something else, but they just didn't hold their shape for me. I even tried baking them instead of frying them to see if that would help. It didn't. I would make these again b/c they were yummy but I would not try to fry them. I would probably make it into a casserole instead. If you can figure out what my problem with this was, please let me know. They are very tasty. :-)
