Nice, tasty, comforting and very filling soup recipe. I think I might add a little water next time just to thin it a bit. I wasn't sure if I should leave the peels on, I did and they they blended up just fine. I topped with some chopped green onion. Thanks for posting the recipe.

  1. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and sugar.
  3. Caramelize for 10 minutes, then add spices.
  4. Add stock, sweet potatoes and yam and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
  6. Stir in cream and remove bay leaf.
  7. Puree soup until smooth.
  8. Return soup to the pot and add corn and garlic; heat through.
