This is a delicious casserole, a little time consuming to make, but worth the effort. Our Thanksgiving crowd loved it. I have one suggestion: a pinch or two of salt added to the sweet potato mixture makes the dish much tastier. [editor's note: the recipe was edited as a result of this review 12/18/02]

The coconut-pecan topping on this wonderful casserole is a unique and interesting change from the same old usual nut topping. This is a great recipe that's become my family's new favourite sweet potato dish.

My family LOVES this recipe... during the holidays I'm always assigned this dish to bring. Your family will love it too. **A key, make sure you blend the ingredients very well before baking. A stand mixer works perfect. The less lumps the better the casserole!

i don't really know why we didn't like this that much. my boyfriend eats everything, and we barely ate one serving. I don't think we were a big fan of the eggs in the mixture. oh well, it sounds good tho.

WOW! I made this as an after thought and took it to my brothers for Christmas dinner. It was a total hit. I used whipping cream instead of half & half and walnuts instead of pecans. It turned out great. Thanks for the recipe. It's a new favorite!

This was a nice change from our usual candied yams. Everyone like it. It was easy to prepare. We all thought the nut topping made the dish.
Thanks Mysterygirl.

Here's what I did: I used Sweet n Low brown sugar in the topping and Splenda int he potatoes, turned out wonderful. I was tempted to use egg substitute but decided I had messed around enough. Great topping, loved it.

I am planning to serve these taters for Turkey Day and gave them a test run today. I was tempted to add a little cinnamon and nutmeg to the potatoes--I didn't---they were perfect. Thanks for sharing.
