I don't like sweet potatoes but I love this dish. It's a great departure from the recipe with the marshmallows. You can use canned yams if you wish but I have found that fresh tastes best.

  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix together all ingredients (except topping) and place in baking dish.
  3. Mix together topping ingredients and spread over sweet potato mixture.
  4. Bake until top is brown, about 25 minutes.

UPDATE: I've been fixing this recipe for 5 years now, and everyone loves it. I still leave out the coconut because there's too many picky eaters in my family, but I'm sure it's even better with it. The topping is to die for. We love it! Thanks for another Thanksgiving tradition!<br/><br/>We usually have sweet potatoes with marshmallows every year during the holidays, so I thought I would try something different. My husband and I both loved this. I left out the coconut and corn flakes but followed the directions otherwise. Thanks for a great recipe! I'm sure we will be having this again.
