- 5 cooked sweet potatoes, peeled and mashed
- 1.23 ml salt
- 59.14 ml butter
- 2 eggs
- 4.92 ml vanilla
- 2.46 ml cinnamon
- 118.29 ml white sugar
- 29.58 ml heavy cream
- 59.14 ml butter, softened
- 44.37 ml flour
- 177.44 ml packed light brown sugar
- 118.29 ml chopped pecans
directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together mashed sweet potatoes, salt, 1/4 cup butter, eggs, vanilla, ground cinnamon, sugar, and cream.
- Pour into baking dish.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup butter, flour, brown sugar, and chopped pecans.
- Mix together with a pastry blender or fingers until course.
- Sprinkle over potatoes.
- Bake for 30 minutes.

This was sooooo good, and easy too. I used a large can of yams. I drained and mashed them and then followed the recipe exactly. I did end up only using half of the topping and it was just right. I made this at Thanksgiving and then my family requested it for Christmas too. This recipe is here to stay! Thanks.

I live in Omaha NE and am an audiologist at Boys Town National Research Hospital. I love to cook, as does my husband Michael. In the summer, we have a large garden and try to use alot of fresh fruits/veggies in our cooking. We have a 5 year old daughter, Kate and almost 2 year old son Sam and enjoy introducing them to new foods. One of their favorites is fresh pesto smeared on crackers!
