  1. Cook the onion, red pepper, and diced tomatoes in the oil in a 2-quart pot until soft, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the pureed tomatoes, capers, salt and pepper; bring to a boil.
  3. Cook 15 minutes.
  4. Fold in the marjoram.
  5. Serve hot over pasta.
