This is a wonderfully scented syrup that we love to use on our Cinnamon Apple Pancakes--that is when we have any left after moistening our walnut apple cake! Serve on warm pancakes or waffles or use to moisten cakes like we do!

  1. Combine all the ingredients except the butter in a small, heavy saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to medium. Cook for about 3 more minutes until it thickens up.
  3. Remove from heat and add the butter.
