Sweet, Creamy Coleslaw

"I never liked coleslaw until I tried my husband's great aunt's. Now I can't get enough of it! Great with BBQ pork sandwiches. You can also use a bag of slaw mix instead of shredding the cabbage and carrots yourself."

Reviews

  1. Wanted a no-fuss coleslaw recipe and this is it. Halved the recipe as we are only two adults and a toddler. Used apple cider vinegar and added some ground pepper and a tablespoon of finely chopped red onion for a little variation. Yummy!

  2. Very simple to make and loved the great flavor tastes so much better after chilling for a while.

  3. This was fantastic! So simple and great, fresh taste. Thank you! I wish that I would have found your recipe before the summer season....oh, well....it's now going to be a winter staple!<br/>I added a tablespoon of Honey Dijon.

  4. I loved this coleslaw, it's so easy to make and tastes delicious. I used a bag coleslaw mix to make it super easy. I added a little salt and pepper.

  5. I was wondering if this type of dressing could be used for cole slaw. Now I know. I use this dressing with mustard added for my macaroni salad or for a dip for chicken nuggets.

Tweaks

  1. To make this recipe healthier and bump up the nutrition consider substituting 1/2 of the mayonnaise with nonfat plain yogurt (can use full fat yogurt if less concerned about fat content and or calories). Also can use light mayonnaise as well if concerned with calories. I do this most times when making coleslaw and no one really notices a big difference.

  2. As much as this does not need another review...I just have to add my two cents in. This was quite FANTASTIC! I used the bag stuff...mixed together mayo and miracle, seasoned rice vinegar, splenda...and added in 1/2 tsp each of ground mustard and celery seeds. A great base recipe that you can spice to your own taste! I will never buy the bottle again! Thanks!! UPDATE: Made this again last night with parmesan tilapia...added in dill and lemon pepper instead of the previous spices. A winner all the way around!
