Many family restaurants serve a corn bread like this. I serve this with honey butter. I love this with a good bowl of soup.
- 18 1⁄2 ounces yellow cake mix
- 15 ounces cornbread mix
- Mix cake mix and corn bread batters according to package directions.
- Blend together and turn into 2 greased 9 inch square baking pans.
- Bake a 350 degrees for about 30-35 minutes or until corn bread springs back when lightly touched.
Way easy to make and super good. I was afraid it would taste too much like cake and not enough like corn bread but it was a perfect balance in my opinion. I used one box of yellow cake mix and 2 boxes of Jiffy corn bread mix.
In the mood for a sweet, cake-like corn bread? If so, than this is for you. When serving along with anything super spicy, we like a sweet cornbread. This was super easy, and super sweet. I baked it in a large cast iron skillet. It came out perfectly, with a nice crunchy crust. I did have to bake it for 45 minutes.
THIS IS FABULOUS! It's super easy and I served it with honey butter made with equal parts butter and honey. It doesn't get any better than this.
