Sweet Broiled Grapefruit

Adds a lovely touch to your Sunday breakfast.

  1. Cut grapefruits in half.
  2. Cut the membrane out of the middle of each half.
  3. Cut the sections loose.
  4. Place 1 T butter in the center of each.
  5. Mix sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Sprinkle over each half.
  7. Broil until bubbly.
  8. Place a cherry in middle of each.

I served this as my first course at my Christmas breakfast. Delish and everyone was very impressed. Made it nice because I just went out and picked the grapefruit off my tree. I cut the sugar/cinnamon down a little. Thanks for the recipe!

We liked the addition of the cinnamon to the traditional sugar topping. We weren't too sure about the butter though. It didn't seem to add much besides fat to the grapefruit. Next time, I'll skip it out of personal preference.
