  1. I made this and served Egg Rolls with it. Although not a sweet and sour fan, this was very good. I'll use the recipe again. BDavis - Hudson, FL

  2. I am never going to buy sweet and sour sauce in the supermarket again! I didn't change a thing and we loved it. Many thanks for this recipe!

  3. I am not going to put a rating on this one because I took your recipe and created my own! I used about 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, and brown sugar instead of white. I would recommend mixing the water and cornstarch before heating to prevent lumps (mine had lumps!) This is a good basic recipe and reheats well in the microwave.

  4. I added 1/2 can of crushed pineapple with the sauce to add some texture. It also help dissipate the overpowering smell of the vinegar. The pineapple was added just as the sauce was thickening and it added a nice tangy taste that's similar to the store bought bottles. We had so much left that I'm saving it for our next gathering. I chose your recipe over others because it was quick and simple. In fact, I didn't have time to make it myself that I had my 12 yr. old daughter follow the directions. So, she actually gets the credit for making it. Thanks!
