  • First mix the cornstarch with the water.
  • then add sugar, ketchup and vinegar.
  • Bring to a boil, making sure to mix often.
  • Add the soy sauce at the end and the pinapple if you are using it.

  1. Dh dislikes pineapple so I was happy to find your recipe. I did substitute the sugar to Splenda and reduced it to 1/3 C. For us it was still sweet enough. I did add more cornstarch too as I wanted a thicker sauce. Thanks for the recipe.
     
  2. Awesome sauce! Fantastic taste to it! My only complaint was that it wasn't thick enough. Easy fix tho, just add more cornstarch next time. :) Will definately make again. Served with white rice and Chinese Style Chicken ( Receipe number 381962).<br/><br/>*Note: I made this without the soy sauce. I don't think I will use it next time either. The sauce was good enough w/out it.
     
  3. this sauce is absolutely wonderful, better than takeaway, my husband raved about it, i will definately be making this every week. I made this without the pineapple as i had none, poured it on pork escalopes and added peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes ( what i had on hand), switched on the slow cooker and it was great and so, so easy, don't hesitate, make this sauce, thanks for the recipe x
