  • Heat olive oil in a medium nonstick skillet.
  • Add broccoli, onion and garlic and saute over low heat 10 minutes or till vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in sugar and 4 tsp.balsamic vinegar and simmer, stirring, 2-3 minutes Taste and add more vinegar as necessary for sweet and sour taste.
  • Season with pepper and salt to taste, stir in pine nuts.

  1. Wonderful, just make sure to peel the stalks otherwise stringy and tough.
     
  2. I will never again throw away a broccoli stalk. They are truly crunchy and delicious...especially when made with these seasonings. Two broccoli stalks was just not enough for us little piggys, so I used some of the flowerettes as well. It was perfectly flavored for our taste using 4 tablespoons vinegar. You can count on us making this as one of our most favorite ways to eat broccoli.
