Super Super Bowl Smokies (Crock Pot- or Not)

"I was surprised when I didn't see this on here. It is beyond simple and perfect for any sort of occasion where you need small snacks, I.E. super bowl parties, graduations etc. Just serve from the crock pot by putting a cup full of toothpicks nearby. Also, you can substitute sliced smoked sausages quite easily for this. And it can be done over low heat in a large covered pot if you don't have a crockpot."

directions

  • Mix ingredients in crock pot.
  • Set on low and let cook for 4 to six hours, giving it a quick stir mid way through. The sugar melts with the juices from the smokies to create a sauce.
  • That's it. How easy can you get?

  1. These were a hit at my work's "Football Tailgate Potluck!" I bought enough to make some at home that evening and my husband couldnt get away from the crock pot!! Super easy to make and absolutely delish!!!! Thanks for sharing, will make many more times for sure!!!

  2. With all respect to the bacon version of this recipe this is not it! If you want the bacon version, make that one, if you don't, make this one. Anyhoo, this recipe was a good basic recipe. Just a hot moistened sweet little smoky really.....I made it for our Christmas Day appetizer buffet and it was yummy. Thanks Janet!

  3. I have been making this recipe for years and actually have a recipe for this here. The recipe I use has bacon I cut into thirds and wrap around each little smokie. We tried it without and liked but much prefer it with the bacon. Thanks for sharing though!

  4. I have used this recipe in the past, the only difference is I cut a bacon strips in 3 slices wrap it around the smokie before baking. These never last long after making them.
