- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1⁄3 cup sugar (or sugar substitute)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 egg yolks
directions
- Bring 2 cups heavy whipping cream to a gentle boil. Stir in 1/3 cup of sugar until disolved. Remove from heat.
- In a seperate bowl, wisk egg yokes until blended.
- Slowly pour cream mixture into egg yokes and wisk until blended.
- Allow mixture to cool to room temperature.
- When the mixture has cooled, transfer to a freezer safe container and freeze.

Loved making this, & even though it takes some time (mostly idle time), it is delicious! I did bring it down to room temperature, then put it in a freezable container, & put it, uncovered, in the fridge to get it colder before covering it & freezing it ~ Just to keep it from developing an initial frost on top! Many thanks for sharing this great recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this Spring's round of Pick A Chef]
