I found this recipe in a book about science. I made it for my kids and they thought it was great. Its great for kids of all ages. It's fun to play with but DO NOT EAT!

  1. Stir all together in a pan or large bowl.
  2. Add more cornstarch or water if needed.
  3. Add food coloring for color.
  4. Before each time playing add water.

I have no idea why I had problems with this, but after using twice the amount of cornstarch, my mixture was still too liquidy to play with. At that point I ran out of cornstarch, so it will remain a mystery. My suggestion would be to start with a little water at a time until desired consistency is reached. Thanks for sharing!

This is a neat way to show students the properties of matter... it is something that can go from a solid to a liquid w/ touch depending on the amount of cornstarch/water used. It it VERY messy though- I personally would suggest you make it outside, with a hose handy, and for you to not add the food coloring. I had to hose my students and classroom down after we made this. Thanks for sharing!

This was easy and didn't make a mess. My kids loved it and are going to keep playing with it. It is a great family activite.
