Super Easy Candied Walnuts

"My daughter Kelleigh learned this recipe at culinary school. They are quite addictive just plain or you can use them in salads. This is definitely a recipe that you should go out and buy parchment paper for as it will make your life easier in the clean up!"

  1. Easy and absolutely delicious! They're very adaptable, too - as other reviewers suggested, you could add other spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, etc., depending on your guests, and your menu. I'm going to use some of these to dress up a Maple Walnut Bundt Cake, recipe #314142; the rest, I'll put out on Christmas - I'm sure they won't last! Thanks, Acadia, for the wonderful recipe! Made for our VIP, Acadia, for Veggie Swap #28, November!

  2. I made these for abake sale. Now they tasted fine but way to much better, as it was just left at the bottom of tray.

  3. I made them with honey and served on top of sauteed green beans, delicious! I am going to try maple syrup and cinnamon then serve them with Belgian waffles! These are so easy and fast, thank you for the recipe!

  4. I think a pinch of salt or salted butter would work well in this recipe. Other spices is a great suggestion, too. Will enjoy this tomorrow morning on top of my Greek yogurt. Reviewed for Veg Tag January.

  5. These are super easy and taste wonderful! I added some cinnamon to mine. So good!<br/>However, I had to bake them for much longer than 10 minutes. I wish the recipe would have had some indication of when they are ready to come out of the oven - not just a set of minutes.

Tweaks

  1. Please tell your daughter thank you for sharing this lovely recipe. It really is super easy and delicious. It was a great holiday treat. I used Earth Balance margarine instead of butter. Will definitely make this again and again. Reviewed for Veggie Swap, December 2009.
