directions

  • Marinate the chicken for a couple hours up to 24 hours in dill pickle juice (save the pickles or eat them).
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg and milk together.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, pepper, msg, and salt.
  • Add 1 to 1-1/2 tablespoons of egg mixture to dry mixture and mix to look like crumbly sand.
  • Dip each piece of chicken in milk mixture until fully moistened.
  • Roll the moistened chicken in flour mixture until completely coated.
  • Let chicken rest during next step on a wire rack.
  • Heat the frying oil in a dutch oven on medium to about 400 degrees.
  • Drop all chicken into the hot oil and cook approximately 10 minutes (try to keep oil around 350-400 degrees). Test doneness by removing a piece and using meat thermometer or cutting open.
  • When chicken is done, remove from oil and drain on wire rack (paper towels underneath).
  • Spread butter on inside of bun and lightly toast on medium in medium pan on stove top.
