Summer Squash Chutney

"A very good chutney with meats, cheeses and just off the spoon. Just guessed at the amount of jars....because it is not stated in the recipe."

ingredients

• 453.59 g summer squash
• 2 cooking apples
• 2 medium tomatoes, peeled
• 3 medium onions
• 473.18 ml sugar
• 14.79 ml salt
• 0.25 ml cayenne
• 2.46 ml ground cloves
• 354.88 ml mix dried fruit
• 591.47 ml malt vinegar

directions

1. Peel and core the squash and apples.
2. Chop the squash and apples with the tomatoes and onions.
3. Put this mixture into a saucepan with the remaining ingredients.
4. Cook over a low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is dissolved.
5. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
6. Pour into warm sterilized jars and seal.
