Wow, I just loved the flavor of this oatmeal with all the fruit. It's really no work at all beyond grating a bit of orange zest. The consistency did come out a bit soupy for me, so next time I'll reduce the liquid content, but I'll definitely be making it often!

I love this oatmeal. I will admit to cooking it in the microwave (therefore decreased the amount of water). I used half old fashioned and half quick oats. I loved all the fruit and the thing I really liked was the orange zest. I usually flavor my oatmeal with spices or extracts. This was a really nice fresh change. I also really liked the addition of the milk powder. I can't stand the thought of making oatmeal with milk as I detest hot milk so really liked this alternative, which created a nice creamy product. I did 3/4 the recipe which was easily done. Thanks for a winner Toni!

I thought this was a lovely breafast recipe. I left out the milk powder, and used about 1 1/2 cups of liquid, made up of half water and half skimmed milk. I used all the dried fruit and thought it was a really nice combination, and not too sweet.

Oatmeal is something we usually have for breakfast 1 to 2 times per week and I always appreciate finding new and yummy ways to prepare it. I did not have the dried plum but did have the other ingredients. I increased the recipe to serve 2 and found that with all the dried fruit this was most definately substantial servings. I used a little less than 2 cups of water in the doubled recipe and added the dry milk powder at the end of cooking.
