  • Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Add Sugar snap peas, season with salt and pepper.
  • Stir-fry until crisp-tender, or about 3 minutes.
  • Add basil and lemon zest, stir-fry until basil is wilted and fragrant.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

  1. We have a huge bumper crop of sugarsnap peas and herbs (including basil) in our garden. I found this recipe and gave it a try. Fresh, compliments the natural sweetness of the peas, basil does not overwhelm, and lemon zest perks things up. I also added a good squeeze of lemon juice just before serving. Delicious! Paired with fresh Petrale sole I caught yesterday, this made an outstanding meal. I have already forwarded this recipe to several friends. Belissimo!
     
  2. A quick and healthy side that is packed with flavor. I agree with sugarpea the combination of herbs and lemon juice really add to the sweetness of the peas.
     
  3. For some reason these seasonings, herbs and juice make the peas taste even sweeter. Of course, basil is one of my favorites. Great way to heighten the enjoyment of garden fresh snap peas. Yum.
