- Cream butter and sugar; add egg; sift in dry ingredients.
- Add vanilla, nuts, and apples.
- Bake in 8" square pan for 35-40 minutes.
- Serve with topping of whipped cream or ice cream.

I made this three times already in less then a month. Everyone loved. I doubled the measures to get a bigger cake, still it disappeared way too fast. Thanks KC for sharing it.
Everyone loved this cake... it's so moist and yummy.. I double the mixture (but only used 1 1/2 cups sugar).. The cake froze well... Thanks so much :)
I made this for houseguests. Substituted oil for the butter because one guest had an allergy to dairy products. I used Fuji apples. Was not sure of the baking temperature so I used 350 degrees and baked it for about 50 minutes. This cake was delicious and simple to make. It tasted even better the second day. I would consider doubling the recipe.
