Sugar Free Punch

"A Sugar Free Punch that a Type 1 diabetic could drink all day long without having to take extra insulin. People with diabetes will just love you for thinking of THEM! Especially any diabetic child like mine. Do you realize a Type 1 diabetic can eat only at certain times of the day and only a certain amount of carbohydrates? Hopefully my daughter will go on the insulin pump this summer so things do not have to be so rigid for her."

  1. I haven't made this yet, but I want to thank you, thank you, thank you for posting something I can have!!! There are so few recipes for things like drinks and deserts for diabetics! Thanks!

  2. I made this punch for a bridal shower I hosted and it got rave reviews! EVERYONE said it was the best punch they ever had! Great post!

  3. I made this today, using Crystal Light Pink Lemonade mix, for a girl's baby shower, and the shade of pink was so perfect. I floated a frozen teething ring on top. I thought it was good, and I got several compliments from the guests. I'm not diabetic, so I can't truly appreciate a sugar-free punch. We needed something without sugar because the shower was at a retirement home and several diabetic patients were present. This fit our needs perfectly. Thanks for posting!

  4. I made this punch for our family's New Year's Day get-together. It was excellent! I used lemon-lime flavored Fresca instead of the regular and froze the strawberries in a muffin tin in some sugar-free lemon-lime drink to use as ice cubes in the punch bowl. Thank you so much for posting! I'll be making this punch often.

  5. I have made this for a bridal shower and a baby shower, and it has been a hit both times. Sugar conscious and others that normally don't mind sugar all loved the sugar free drink. It was super quick and easy. I used frozed strawberries one of the times and it turned out just as good. Thanks

Tweaks

  1. A few days before needing the punch, I slice the appropriate fruit & place it in a (storage) bowl. Then I add whatever the extra from the punch (usually pink cranberry juice) to cover the fruit & place in the freezer. After making the punch, substitute the fruit/juice bowl (removed from the container, of course) for the ice. It "adds something" to the punch & doesn't water down the drink!
