I just want to make an important note for those wanting to serve diabetics: this is reduced sugar, not sugar free, as you can see in the Nutrition Facts. (apples naturally contain sugar) Also, white flour is readily converted to sugar in the body, with a Glycemic Index (GI) of 85, higher than that of the apple's 40 and even the table sugar (GI of 70). If you are looking to make this diabetic friendly, try replacing the flour with almond meal (GI of 15) and soy flour (GI of 25), and using Truvia or Purevia (a combination of Stevia and erythritol, both GI of 0) as the sweetener.

Absolutely delicious! My husband, who considers himself an apple pie guru, declared that this was the best apple pie he'd ever eaten. It was, without question, a big hit at my holiday dinner. It'll certainly be back on the menu well before the next major holiday!

Thank you so much for posting. I made a mini pie for my hubby, unborn baby (5.5 months preggo) and I tonight and it was amazing! This was.the first fruit pie I've ever made. My hubby swears that I am lying. The recipe was extremely easy and I made no other adjustments.

Made this as one of my many pies for Thanksgiving. It was fantastic. Everyone loved it and no one realized it was sugar free until I told them. I had one diabetic at the holidays and needed a special treat for him. Super super easy to make!

Sign in or create an accountI made this pie twice this weekend and it was gone in 30 min. from the time I took it out of the oven. I used the crumble topping recipe from Lifesaver and that is my son's favorite part.

This is a great, standard recipe as is. However, I have also added 1/2 t. of nutmeg, per other suggestions, and 1T of lemon juice. I also upped the flour to 2T to compensate for the lemon juice. I have also made this with different kinds of apples or a mix and everytime this pie comes out great. Thanks Quilting B.!!!!!!

I baked this sugar free pie for my boss, who is diabetic, for his birthday. He said he couldn't believe it had no sugar in it, and said it is the best apple pie he has ever tasted! He made me promise to make it again...once every month! Thanks for the great recipe!

I gave this recipe 4 stars. Yum! My family really enjoyed this pie. I made this for my families Thanksgiving. I made a few minor changes to the recipe. I used apples I had on hand from the local farmers market. I also used a homemade crust. Overall this was so good and we will have it again. Thanks for posting such a good recipe! Sign in or create an accountexcellent recipe, I added my personal touch by adding toasted crushed walnuts and crasins with the apples and topped off with low fat and low sugar graham crackers with banana and more toasted walnuts crushed all together as the pie crown. My husband who is very very picky had no idea it was sugar free said it awesome.

Very good... I did opt the Flour for either Whole Wheat flour or Natural White Flour (both are whole grain flours and work well with cooking for me) This way not only sugar free its complex carbs as well. Much better!!

FANTASTIC! I made only a couple changes to save calories, as we are both trying to lose weight. I ommitted the pie crusts and topped the apples with a crumb type topping. I used: 3/4 C. Oatmeal, 1/4 C. brown sugar, 1/2 cup clour, 1/4 t. cinnamon, and 1/4 cup low calorie margarine. I crumbled this over the top and baked as directed. This topping also adds fiber. My husband preferred to top his with sugar-free cool-whip. We will definitely make over and over.

Made this for a dinner with my parents who are diabetics! They loved it and the fact that they could have more than a small sliver of dessert which is what they usually do with non-sugar free desserts. Served with Splenda sweetened ice cream from the grocery store. Will definitely make again!

I've already made this recipe 3 weekends in a row and made sure to make alot every time i do. My husband can eat a pan in just one day and keeps telling me to make some every weekend. I used a ready made dough, and followed the recipe as is. It's so good!Sometimes we top it with chocolate icecream or pudding. It still is great. And since it's sugar free, i can eat it without guilt. Definitely a keeper! Thanks!

Amazing. On Thanksgiving, all 14 of us had two slices of apple pie - one using this recipe, one using real sugar. We picked the one using Splenda. Great recipe!
