Used minced dried onions but otherwise followed the recipe. Smells just like the packet kind, but I like that you can control the salt in it by using reduced sodium beef bouillon. Going to use this in Pinwheels. Made for I Recommend Tag.

Excellent substitute recipe that worked perfectly in my recipe for Pot Roast. I am going to keep a container of this handy from now on. Loved that the sodium is so reduced in this recipe compared to commercial mixes. I can't wait to make French Onion Dip with it too. Thanks for sharing a great addition to our pantries. Made for the I Recommend Tag Game in Cooking Games with Friends forum.

I just omitted the celery seeds cause I couldn't find it and also I don't really like it :) I used it for Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker It was great. No need to buy onion soup mix. And also I never buy this cause DH has to watch his sodium intake. Thanks Chef Dee :) Made for I Recommend tag game

LOVED THIS! I made Crockpot Pepsi Pot Roast and it was perfect! I didn't have dried beef bouillon granules so I used 2 Tbsp. of Beef Better than Bouillon (paste), and added the rest of your ingredients to one can of cream of celery soup to make a paste. Place roast in crockpot, cover with soup mixture paste, and cover all with 1 16 oz bottle of REGULAR Pepsi (or Coke). Cooked 6.5 hours on HIGH. THANK YOU!

I used this mixed into a casserole recipe and it tasted much like the pre-packaged mix. The true test will be how well this tastes as classic french onion dip.

Thank you, great recipe. I have used it 2 or 3 times and it tastes great. I'm always looking to replace those little packages of spices with their unrecognizable ingredients!

I use the dry onion soup mix in quite a few recipes, but my husband has to watch his sodium intake so I turned to Zaar and found this recipe. I used it in a beef and noodle recipe and was very pleased. I will be making a double batch and keep it handy for other recipes. Thanks, Carole in Orlando

Never buy onion soup mix, so when I wanted to try out #362014, this great recipe saved the day. Much much better than the store bought variety I'd say. I didn't have the granules, so just used one bouillon cube instead, seemed fine to me. Thanks!

Nice substitute for the packaged stuff. I made and used 1/2 recipe for Kittencal's Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms and Onion Gravy #318998. I like that I can make it up ahead of time or as needed with spices on hand. Thanks for sharing.
