Simple snack or desert. Adapted from The International Menu Diabetic Cookbook. Original recipe uses diabetic creative cream cheese. Recipe as posted is not a diabetic recipe as it uses regular or low fat cream cheese.
- Preheat oven to 325-degrees F.
- Cut stems off figs and split lengthwise.
- Stuff each with 2 almonds and pinch closed.
- Arrange on cookie sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Serve at room temperature with 1 Tablespoon cream cheese.
ellie, I didn't think too much about this recipe when I made it, but when I tasted it I was in for a good surprise! Baking the figs intensified the flavor and with the cream cheese this was just delicious!!! Thanks for a great recipe! I will definitely be making these again!
These are soo good! My Grandma made them like this when we visited.. it's a shame they have SO many carbs!! I save this recipe for special occasions. Thanks
