I thought this was pretty tasty. I doubled the recipe but I didn't have enough applesauce, so I put in a touch of orange juice. I also threw in a little garlic and used seasoned salt instead of plain. Thanks for the good recipe! My husband (not a squash lover) said he would like me to use the stuffing base to make a different meal like a casserole or hum-bao.

What a great recipe! I didnt have celery so I used celery salt. I used toasted rye bread (any bread would work I'm sure. Overall flavor, appearance reminded me of a Thanksgiving stuffing which was nice. This was the most filling and savory recipe for this time of year. The cinnamon and curry work well together. I even put some nutmeg in by mistake and it gave the recipe a very rich, savory warm tone. My husband didnt know you could eat acorn squash and requested this be made again. Easy recipe, easy for substitutions if necessary. It's been a year and I've made this twice (28 Sept, 3 Oct 09) and it still is a 5-star recipe!

Loved this. So different and healthy. I used extra lean ground turkey, and since I did not have any raisin bread, I used some large wheat breadcrumbs and added raisins. Very tasty, but I did have to add some sweetener, just personal taste preference with this type of dish. Thanks Mrs. D!
