- 6 tablespoons butter, Chilled and cut into 6 pieces
- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup walnuts, any favorite nut will do
- 1⁄4 cup oatmeal
- 1⁄2 cup flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- In a food processor place all ingredients and process by pulsing on and off till crumbly.
- Top your favorite coffee cake or crumb cake.
A lovely struesel topping; easy to make and would suit banana bread, apple cake, coffee cake, and more. I used it on top of banana muffins; while the muffins didn't rise as well as I wished, the struesel was enough to make them still delicious and presentable anyway! Thanks, Rita! Made for Newest Zaar Tag. This was really good. I keep jars of the cobbler filling from Cracker Barrel on hand for quick desserts. This topping was awesome on the peach cobbler filling. Thanks for posting this Rita!
