Yum! Although I didn't have the ingredients for the salad, I served the dressing over a salad of red leaf lettuce, vanilla poached pears, Asiago cheese, tomatoes and toasted almonds. It was a hit at a chocolate-themed dinner.

This is a great salad but why are some of the measurements in metric and some not? I measured and weighed everything and it is approximately 1/3 c. balsamic and 1/3 c. sugar. The chocolate measures to about 1/4 c. I agree that you only need about 1/2 recipe. Also, I would use a little less chocolate just for the texture--it was a little thick. I really liked the flavors though and will make it again. It was an unusual and elegant salad. I used spinach and feta cheese instead of Stilton. For lunch I just cut up some fresh strawberries and drizzled the dressing over them. Yum.

This was delicious and so VERY easy to make. A great hit for my Valentine's Day special dinner for my honey. I used white balsamic which has a milder flavor and used a delicious blue cheese that has pears in it, made by Rosenborg. It was out of this world!! Thank you!

We love this salad and dressing. I serve ours with grilled chicken breast strips that have been seasoned with olive oil, garlic salt and thyme. For the dressing I subbed honey for the sugar and added both it and the chocolate to taste. We've shared this salad and dressing with several people and all love it.

very good! made with strawberries, blackberries, and goat's cheese on top of spring mix lettuce. The dressing was tangy and sweet, a perfect match for the berries.

Made this salad for the second time tonight and remembered I forgot to review the last time. I was initially drawn to the recipe as a way to use chocolate in a salad for a chocolate themed supper. For my taste I used an english cucumber and doubled the amount, halved the sugar in the dressing and used goat cheese instead of the stilton (I used a goat cheese with fig). My DW loved it and she very rarely likes salad. This recipe is absolutely a home-run.

This salad was wonderful! Made exactly as posted using spinach and romaine lettuce instead of the rocket leaves. We loved it as the first course to a splendid meal!

This is a lovely, delicious salad. The dressing is wonderful and very easy to prepare. I saw this recipe prepared on "Come Dine with Me" (the hostess also has the same cookbook, Real Chocolate) and had to try it right away. Thank you for sharing the recipe, it is a terrific dinner party salad and is simple enough for everyday. Note: I was unable to get Stilton with black pepper, so I used Boursin Poivre instead.
