This is a potluck favorite in my area and I have made it many times. The pretzels sound like an odd ingredient, but they really work in this dish. The salty flavor contrasts beautifully with the sweet in the other ingredients. Sugar free jello & low fat cream cheese work in this recipe too if that is of interest for your family.
