This is an old recipe. We did not have to cook the eggs back then. I modified the recipe to make it egg safe. Hope you like it.
- 3 (12 ounce) cans evaporated milk
- 3 cups sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 (3 ounce) strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert
- 2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
- Mix milk, sugar, eggs and jello.
- Heat mixture in double boiler until mixture reaches 160°F.
- Stir in fresh strawberries.
- Pour into 1 gallon Icecream maker.
- Process according to directions.
