Great compliment as a topping on a 9" cheesecake.I did not comletely mash the strawberries......I left the glaze chunky only mashing one half of the pot and I double the recipe but only add three Tblspns of Grand Marnier instead of four....comes out perfect.
Great strawberry glaze -- perfect for strawberry shortcake or ice cream. I have access to fresh- picked strawberries at our local Farmer's Market so I'll be using this recipe often. I like the idea of using other fruits as well. Made for Everyday is a Holiday tag, May, 2013.
I used raspberries in my recipe and more sugar - but just enough that the sweetness wasn't so overwhelming to cover the raspberry taste.
I used this on my cheesecake and it was great!
Absolutely divine, I'm just waiting for the day when a 'sweet tooth' becomes sexy. Made for 123 Hit Wonders. (update;I forgot to add the stars)
Wonderfully yummy. I was looking for a glaze recipe due to the fact I didnt want to cough up almost $4.00 for a tub of it at the store. This isnt a smooth glaze but If you wanted a smoother outcome you could always put it in the food processor for a minute or two. I omitted the liquor, due to religious reasons, liquor isnt an option for me, I dont think it impacted the recipe whatsoever. I doubled the recipe, but cut down on the sugar. This would be great on ice cream. Thanks for the recipe. Its a keeper.
Wow! MMM! The chef gave me permission to make this with some raspberries rather than strawberries. So good! We grew the berries here and froze them last summer. I followed the directions to a T other than that and was rewarded with the most delicious sauce. :) I did strain the sauce after adding the GM to remove some of the seeds as dh does not like them. They do not bother me. I think the raspberries gave this a certain zip. AMAZING warm, drizzled over some chocolate cake and topped with vanilla ice cream, Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla of course! :) Thank you Boomie for a fabulous recipe! *Made for Bevy Tag*
I put some of this sweet strawberry sauce/glaze on a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. I used a tsp. of orange extract and I thought it added a perfect amount of citrus flavor. At first I was worried that the glaze would be an unappealing color, but it turned a beautiful red shade as it cooked. Thank you Boomie!
