This was so easy to make. I did however tweak it a bit. I used 8 oz cream cheese, cause I like it ;) and added 1/3 cup of powdered sugar to sweetened it, cause that's the way I like it. The glaze was wonderful. I won't buy store glaze anymore. The red food coloring is a MUST... when the strawberries cook down in the glaze, you really need to put the color back. Ummm...YUM! This pie was so delicious! I made my own crust using mix of chocolate graham crackers with regular. Used a little extra reduced fat cream cheese and some berries that needed to be used up. Loved it and will make again with next strawberry season! I do think it took me longer than the stated time to make. Thanks for posting! Edited to add: Leftovers not so great. My crust got soggy b/c the pie became a little watery.
excellent! came together well, very easy to make. made my own crust, and the cream cheese was very soft, so I didnt add the milk. The strawberries I had were a little tart, so I sprinkled the fresh ones with a little sugar. For the Aussies, a quart of strawberries is about 2 punnets :) would recommend this recipe! 2009 Aug Aussie swap
Very good and easy pie recipe. I made this to take to my in-laws. My FIL says that he doesn't like cream cheese so I substituted the tsp of milk in the cream cheese with a dollop of whipped cream and added a Tbsp of sugar. The pie turned out great. My in-laws enjoyed it and my FIL never even noticed the cream cheese. LOL Thanks for sharing a great summer pie recipe. Made for July, 2008 Bevy Tag.
I liked the flavors of this pie but feel that the cream cheese mixture needs some sweetening. I will make this again and double the cream cheese mixture and transfer some of the sugar from the strawberry glaze into the cream cheese mixture. I liked the graham flavor with the strawberries.
Very good, I used 4 ounces cream cheese (half a 8-ounce) package and 2 teaspoons whipping cream, I might double the cream cheese recipe when making this again as it was a very thin layer, also I do suggest to chill the cream cheese layer for 1 hour before topping, I did add in the red food colouring or this would have had very little colour, thanks for sharing this great strawberry treat...Kitten:)
So simple and so good. Easy enough to prepare while getting dinner ready and have it shortly afterward. I followed your suggestion and mixed a bit of brandy in with the whipped cream. Yummy! Thanks for posting!
I really enjoy the addition of cream cheese to this pie! It was very simple to prepare and the taste is wonderful. Instead of the graham cracker crust, though, I made it using "My No Roll Pie Crust", my new favorite pie crust! This strawberry pie recipe is one I will use whenever fresh strawberries are in season! Made for ZWT3 2007.
