A great alternative to fattening, sugary syrup for pancakes waffles, even ice cream! You can switch up the fruit too!

Tried this with a mock french toast thing (which was ok, but not great) but the compote was fantastic. I hadn't really thought of doing this before because silly me thought without sugar it wouldn't really work. I was happy to be wrong. Thanks for posting!

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. In a pot, mash strawberries. Pour in water. Turn on medium heat.
  2. Mix in 1 packet of Splenda (or 2 teaspoons of regular sugar if no alternative is available) and cinnamon.
  3. Keep heated for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Pour over food and enjoy!
