This was moist and yummy. I was unsure about adding the coconut and pecans, but it works!

I made this cake tonight for a birthday party tomorrow. I tasted a piece of the cake, and it is incredibly delish! Thanks so much for sharing this BEAUTIFUL cake and SCRUMPTIOUS frosting recipe with us Looneytunesfan! I posted some pics so you can see for yourself how great it came out :) Can't wait to cut the first piece :) The only things different I did was used a French Vanilla cake mix, and added 1 small pkg. of French Vanilla pudding, and I used sweetened coconut.

Everyone who has tried it loved it! Wonderful with or without Coconut and Pecans on the inside and/or outside. It makes for a pretty presentation when you put coconut all around the outside with a sliced strawberry in a circle on the top.

The cake recipe is WONDERFUL!!!! Easy to make and so delicious!! I couldn't find frozen coconut so I just used the regular packaged sweetened stuff and it was fine. The frosting is VERY thin though, the strawberries water it down, strained them VERY well too. I ended up using more cream cheese, less strawberries and more powdered sugar. I'll have to try again and write down what I do. It all tastes great though!! It was compared to German chocolate cake, only strawberry!

Beautiful and scrumptious!!! Made for a dinner party and everyone loved it and was very impressed. Used the pecans/coconut in the cake batter, but only coconut in the frosting...thought it might be prettier w/o the nuts in the frosting..also topped with 3 choc covered strawberries and served each slice with 2 choc covered berries...excellent cake...know I'll be making this many times..love the pretty pink color from the strawberries!! thanks!!!
