Strawberry-Banana Yogurt Smoothie

"This can easily be adapted to whatever you have on hand. Substitute milk for juice, or peaches and raspberries for the strawberries and bananas. I purposly don't add sweeteners, because the juice is naturally sweet, but also because I like the tartness of the fruit. Yummy for those of you who need energy in the morning, but hate eating breakfast (like me!)."

  1. I don't like my smoothies overly sweet, and this one was perfect. I used plain nonfat yogurt, which isn't sweetened, and frozen berries, which helped thicken it a bit. Cranberry juice for the juice. Will be making this again! Made for Fall 2012 PAC game.

  2. Fabulous smoothie recipe! I especially loved the organe juice addition, it made the smoothie so much better than the ordinary. Yum!

I live on the beautiful Oregon coast with my husband and my 3 year-old son. I love to cook and try out new recipes, especially using my in-laws as guinea pigs (they are both professional chefs). Lately my husband and I have been trying to eat healthier, so I'm forever searching for yummy and satisfying low fat, low cal recipes. It's also really important to me that my son develops healthy eating habits, so I like to make him toddler faves (like chicken nuggets) from scratch, instead of buying the processed stuff. In addition to cooking, I design, create, and sell my own jewelry... my true passion. :)
